Earlier this
week I posted an article written by Napoleon Hill titled “No Drifts into
Success”. The main point of the article is that in order for anyone to become a
success in life they must first determine what it is that they want out of
life. They must have goals or a definite major purpose with an action
plan.
“The person
who acts with a purpose and a plan attracts opportunities. How can life give
you anything if you don’t know what you want yourself? How can others help you
to succeed if you haven’t decided how to get there yourself? Only with
definiteness of purpose will you be able to overcome the defeats and
adversities that will stand in your way.
One of
America’s earliest and most successful franchisers was Lee Maranz, a
man who knew what he wanted and how to get it. A mechanical engineer, Maranz
invented an automatic ice cream freezer that made soft ice cream. He envisioned
a chain of ice cream stores from coast to coast and worked out a plan to make
his dream become reality.
He, like
many others since, built his own success by helping others achieve theirs. He
helped people set up ice cream shops by furnishing construction and design
plans, a revolutionary idea at the time. He sold the ice cream machines at coat
and made his profit from the sale of the ice cream mix. The result? That chain
of stores Maranz was determined to create across the country.”
How did
mister Maranz achieve his goal? He did it through helping others achieve their
goals. If you look into the lives of truly successful people you will notice a
few common themes and one of them is that their success was realized because
they to enrich the lives of other in some way. A perfect example of this is
Bill Gates of Microsoft. His company and product have touched almost everybody
around the global and has made the world a better place. I would challenge
anybody to walk into office or home in the developed or developing world and if
they can’t find a Microsoft office product. Even the people who hate the Gates
and his company most likely use his products to bash his company. Do remember
back when the government was suing Microsoft for violation of anti-trust laws?
I bet that if you looked at work space of every single bureaucrat that was
trying to destroy this company was using a computer with a Microsoft windows
operating system load it. Bill Gates and others like him have revolutionized
world and in my opinion have made it better and have become wildly successful
because of the great service that they provided to the world.
So, the point
is if you want to become successful in your ventures then you need to help as
many people as possible to become successful as well. This brings me to the
main point of this post which is illustrated in the title. “No one can become
rich without enriching the lives of others”. How do we that? We do that be
being generous and providing service to as many people as possible. For
example, the reason that I write this blog is my attempt to be of service to other
people by providing with useful content and resources that will help them reach
their financial goals in live. And with time and practice I might become a
better writer and will be able to communicate my ideas more effectively;
however the goal remains the same. To provide people with useful content and
resources that will assist them in reaching their financial goals.
Another
example is my income goals. I have a goal of reaching a certain income level
with my USANA home business. I will only be able to make that goal a reality is
by introducing other people to USANA and then helping those people reach their
income goals. That is why I talk about USANA in this blog and have provided a
link to my USANA website. It is an effort to help others create an additional
source of residual income. In fact all of the links on this page are to assist
the beginning investor with resources to help improve their business ventures.
And yes when you use the service I get rewarded as well. However these are all
services that I use and I know that they can be helpful to you as well.
I heard a
quite by Earl Nightingale that said money or income was a measuring stick of how much service that we
are providing to other people. So, If we
want to be rich then we must increase our service and be like Bill Gates and
other successful people a enrich the life of other and help them reach their
goals.
