What does it take succeed?

Today I was cleaning out my email Inbox reading all of the great products that are advertised to me trying to get me to purchase the latest and great widget that will increase my productivity by 1000% or something to that effect. I also get a motivational quote of the day from Nightingale Conant. The motivational quote of the day contains a get quote from some body like Earl Nightingale or Robert G. Allen.
Here one that I really like from Earl Nightingale, "All you need is a plan, road map, and the courage to press on to your destination". 
And this is one from Robert G. Allen, "Don't let the opinions of the average man sway you. Dream, and he thinks you're crazy. Succeed and he thinks you're lucky. Acquire wealth, and he thinks you're greedy. Pay no attention. He simply doesn't understand".
I love receiving these everyday and of coarse they are a great marketing tool advertising some really great educational products on the subjects of personal development and wealth building to name a few.
Today when I was reading the quote of the day and the accompanying advertisement what really caught my eye was a sentence out of the body of the advertisement. The sentence stated "Today, business experts say that to succeed in the world and create wealth, you need two things: First, you need plenty of money to get things rolling. Second, you need even more 'know-how,' education and access to technologies in the given field to make it work". The topic of the letter was that the opposite is actually true. And the reality is that it does not take a lot of money to start on the road to acquiring great wealth nor does it take a great deal of technical knowledge and technology. Unless your goal is to be a medical doctor or an mechanic, then everything in the above quotation is true.

However, if your goal is to create a residual source of income, then it is quite possible to start a part-time home business with less then $500, a computer, an internet connection and a phone. The phone can be over the internet. And you don't even have to have a home. You could be in any part of the world. For example, I am currently in Afghanistan writing this blog update in my spare time.
You could use the internet at the public library. "All you need is a plan, road map, and the courage to press on to your destination".
