How do we win the Money Game?

Today I was looking at my facebook timeline and I came across this quote by Steve Jobs the founder of Apple Computer.

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."— Steve Jobs

In my first posting of the Business Fool I stated that the importance of asking yourself certain questions to figure out what you want out of live and how you are going to get it. Here are the questions again.

What do you want?
Why do you want it?
How are you going to get it?
When will you get it?

I going to address the first question "What do you want?" Why is it important to know what you you want? Sound like a pretty silly question, but it is in my opinion one of the most important questions that a person can. Do you want to be stuck wasting your life working for someone else's goals and dreams all the while never thing about what is important to you and being so tired at the end of the day that all you do is set in front of the TV wasting your most precious resource you have your time.   Never dreaming, never planning and never living your life.

So what do you want? I don't know what you want. However I do like to hear what others want out of life because it gives me ideas and helps me refine my goals and dreams and sometimes I find like minded people who have similar goals. This is important because it will allow me to join forces with other and truly create something great. The formation of a Master Mind Group if you will.

One thing that I want is to increase my knowledge and skills at the game of money. Money is a game and if we learn to play and win the game then life can truly be an exciting adventure. The first part of winning the money game is value it. Money is a resource to help us get what we want in this live and like all resources it must be valued for what it can bring into our lives and what it grow into.

Too value money is the first step to winning the game and if we value it then we don't waste it. "Prosperous people don't think of money as just colored pieces of paper adorned with pictures of famous dead people. They imagine it as seeds--money seeds with the power to grow into money trees, bearing fruit to fulfill everyone of their dreams. And they are right. Every dollar bill is a money seed." (Robert G. Allen, Multiple Streams of Income). If we waste our seeds, then we will never be able to reap the bountiful harvest of prosperity.

The second step in the winning the game of money is to control it. You need to control your money. Or a better way to state that is this, You need to control yourself.

We will examine the subject to control money in the next post. If you have any thoughts on this post please share them.

More to follow. . .
